Nurturing the Human Spirit: How Wilderness Supports Mental Wellbeing

Oh, Wilderness! It is an escapade like no other. Leave behind the clamour of daily life and step into an emerald tinted dream. Wilderness invites you to rediscover your true self, to reignite the inner spark that brings you joy. For many, these four days are a magical odyssey filled with moments of self-discovery and personal growth. The atmosphere and setting invite you to release your worries, bask in the present moment, and connect with kindred spirits. It is a place where you can express yourself freely, without fear of judgement, and immerse yourself in novel experiences that will create lifelong memories and bond you to your fellow adventurers.

With a vast range of experiences on offer, including free therapy sessions with Blink Mental Health, Open Fellowship Groups and The Grief Space, Wilderness provides a space for mental wellbeing and personal growth. Additionally, our teams of wellness and medical professionals, steeped in expertise and empathy, are trained and experienced in aiding those in crisis. Moreover, the sprawling landscape of our site has been thoughtfully curated, affording respite from crowds with ease, even amidst the bustling heart of the main arena.

Embrace soul-nourishing activities deep in the Wychwood Forest such as a wild medicine walk, a wild run or forest bathing. Workshops in the Greencrafts Village and Art Studio offer the opportunity for some mindful making. Within this nurturing and supportive environment lies the freedom to experiment and discover what truly resonates with your soul.

Wilderness is a platform for intellectual exploration, a wonderland of talks, debates, and discussions:we challenge you to engage with new ideas and perspectives, to question your assumptions, and to broaden your horizons.

Feasting and Dining at Wilderness is more than just a culinary experience. It's an activity that fosters a sense of togetherness and camaraderie: sharing food, talking to strangers, making new friends.

And of course, let us not forget the dance floor, where the motion of spirit and body combine to bring about release, connection, happiness… perhaps even euphoria!

Wilderness promotes mental wellbeing and mental health through self-expression, creativity, community and access to nature; offering a haven where people can connect on a deeper level, share their experiences, and find solace in the arts and the beauty of the English countryside. We’ve got you.
