Meet The Makers: The Wilderness Emporium

The Makers Emporium unites an exquisite range of up-and-coming designers, jewellers and artists from across the UK. For the first time ever, you can attend a workshop in a range of disciplines, learning to make your own one-of-a-kind showstopper to take home.

We met three of the makers who will be in residence at this year's festival.

Make your own skincare products with Sacred + Wild
"At Sacred + Wild we are on a mission to bring a cali-cool, 70s psychedelia, witchy-magic and rock and roll edge to everyday beauty rituals - creating luxurious, sacred skincare for the wild woman.

Our pioneering slow-beauty formulations and unique, artisanal ritual tools in hand-carved natural stone and made in small batches using all natural and certified organic botanicals to bring ancient wisdom, ritual and self-love into your daily routine.

Spearheading a movement away from the green-washing that plagues the clean beauty industry, we offer open and transparent dialogues around products and their ingredients. Every one is there for a specific therapeutic reason and offers new levels in efficacy and eco-standards.

Give us all the plants, all the rituals, all the healing modalities, the “work”, the food, the nourishment, the beauty - with a deep sense of reverence and connection to the divine feminine and to rhythms of the natural world, we are here to create our best, most magical lives. And we welcome anyone who wants to come along for the ride!

We will be tapping into the energies of the pagan harvest festival Lammas on Thursday 1st and the new moon in Leo on Sunday 4th to create two beautiful natural skincare products for you to take away, infused with organic essential oils + botanicals.

An uplifting body, massage + bath oil inspired by our Solaris facial oil using oils, flowers and herbs related to the sun, gold leaf + citrine crystal and a relaxing bath soak inspired by our Lune massage candle using oils, flowers and herbs related to the moon + amethyst crystal." Book HERE.

Make a ring with Reo Jewels
"I’m Bee - the founder of Reo Jewels, which I established in 2016 and is a jewellery brand inspired by Mother Nature. I hand-make a variety of silver collections and bespoke work upon request in solid gold, using the ancient tradition of lost wax casting.

At my Wilderness workshop, Reo will talk you through the ancient process of lost wax casting before giving you your very own brass rabbit rib bone that has been moulded and cast from the skeleton of a road kill British Rabbit. You will then be shown basic jewellery making skills to hand pierce it from its sprue, shape it into a ring on a mandrel and file and polish away any imperfections to leave you with a shiny ring you can keep forever as a token of your Wilderness adventures." Book HERE.

Design your own cotton scarf with DARN
"My name is Amelia Pemberton. I am a designer living in Cornwall, working on launching sporadic, limited runs of silk scarves and clothing without adhering to seasons or mass production.

DARN pieces arrive in due time, demonstrating the beauty and importance of slow design. We are committed to transparency and clear communication between customers and manufacturers who appreciate sustainable, high-quality products. I like to incorporate playfulness into my designs, adding an element of joyful, youthful feelings to the products I launch. It is with great pleasure that each scarf is made in the UK, supporting a circular economy.

At Wilderness I will be creating a playful, creative space where we will start with a few fun drawing games to help everyone relax and enjoy the process.

Afterward, you will have the opportunity to design your very own cotton scarf. Using the still life in the centre as inspiration, you can decorate your scarf with fabric paints and pens." Book HERE.
