MAVICA is the project of London-based artist Marta Casanova. Her sound blends folk with indie, pop and electronic sounds. Originally from Cartagena, Spain, she moved to London when she started studying Performance and Production at the London College of Creative Media. There, she wrote debut EP ‘Gone’, including breakout song ‘Fire’, which received critical acclaim from The Line of Best Fit and The 405. In September she released her debut album sometimes a person never comes back (but that’s okay), which received support from Rolling Stone, Billboard Latin, Clash, C-Heads, Early Rising, Paste, BBC Radio 1, KCRW and got her on the cover of Spotify's 'Radar Indie' & Tidal's 'Global Rising' playlists. A frequent live performer, MAVICA played festivals like Primavera Sound, Mad Cool and O Son Do Camino and has opened for Alice Phoebe Lou, Roo Panes, Blanco White and Low Island.
