Katy Hessel is an art historian, curator, broadcaster, and author of the internationally bestselling book, The Story of Art Without Men. She runs @thegreatwomenartists, an Instagram account that has celebrated women artists on a daily basis since 2015, writes a fortnightly column for The Guardian, and hosts The Great Women Artists Podcast, where she has interviewed artists including Marina Abramović and Tracey Emin. 

Hessel has lectured at The Guggenheim, Tate, The National Gallery, and more; presented art documentaries for the BBC, and hosted radio programs for BBC Radio 3 and 4. She is a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University and a Trustee of Charleston, the former home of the Bloomsbury Group.
