In The Wild

Free but bookable to secure your spot!

Treemendously Wild provides forest school and outdoor education sessions in Shipton-under-Wychwood, West Oxfordshire. We support children and families in a private woodland with a fully qualified forest school leader, providing a safe environment for children of all abilities and backgrounds to learn and develop through child-led play and to greater physical and mental wellbeing.

New to Wilderness, Treememedously Wild will be offering three sessions across the weekend:

Woodland Arts and Crafts

Woodland arts and crafts offer a treemendous way to connect with nature while unleashing your creativity. These crafts typically incorporate natural materials such as leaves, twigs, pinecones, bark, and sticks, allowing you and your children to create beautiful and unique pieces that reflect the tranquillity of the woods.

Bug Hunts & Woodland Scavenger Hunts

Bug hunts and woodland scavenger hunts are treemendously engaging outdoor activities that offer participants a chance to explore and connect with nature. Both activities encourage curiosity, observation, and mindfulness, making them perfect for children and adults alike. During a bug hunt, participants search for various insects, learning about their habitats, behaviours, and roles in the ecosystem. Woodland scavenger hunts, on the other hand, involve searching for specific items or natural features, such as leaves, rocks, animal tracks, or even particular plants.

Shelter Building

Shelter building is a fantastic outdoor activity for children and their families. It encourages creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and a sense of adventure. By using natural materials such as branches, leaves, and rocks, children can construct temporary shelters that mimic those used by animals or early humans. We will also use tarpaulin and rope, learning crucial survival skill that involves creating a safe and secure space for protection against the elements, and for our youngest creators we will be constructing fairy houses, which is a treemendously imaginative activity that invites creativity and a connection with nature.
