The Art StudioIntroduction to Zine-Making
Lu Williams (they/them) creates cross-disciplinary artworks, sculpture, print, zines, video, and events. They make art through the lens of queerness, neurodivergence and working classness. In 2015, they founded Grrrl Zine Fair, and two years later Grrrl Zine Library, which hosts 800+ queer and feminist zines at the Old Waterworks in Southend-on-Sea.
Lu’s hosted hundreds of zine-making and other creative workshops, and is working on their first major public art commission, a huge sculpture. They are working on new commissions for Cementfields in Ebbsfleet, “Artists in Libraries” for Merton Borough Council and Kings College London, among many others.
